Light as a sneaker but warm as a winter boot

Nirak2 BUGrip offers everything that a winter boot from Icebug should have - albeit in a slightly toned-down format and at a very good price. Nirak is light as a sneaker but warm as a winter boot

Under the sole you have 13 studs in carbide steel, on the inside there is comfy fleece, and the water-resistant upper is easy to keep clean. This is a light and comfortable boot suitable for a variety of winter activities.

Nirak is also available in a version with our best non-studded winter grip, Nordic Traction.

Which traction technology suits you best?

BUGrip

The BUGrip outsole features dynamic carbide steel studs that adapt to the surface and provide reliable grip on snow and ice – the obvious choice for the iciest conditions.

Nordic Traction (NT)

Rarely deal with icy conditions? Nordic Traction is a specially developed rubber compound that delivers excellent grip in cold, wet, and slushy weather – no studs needed.

FAQ

Traction largely depends on the number of studs, and Nirak has 13 while, for example, Metro has 16. However, 13 studs are significantly more than what you have on a regular rubber sole (none!).

We developed Nirak specifically to offer a shoe in a lower price range. Therefore, the materials are less exclusive, and the design is more modest. But it's still a quality Icebug boot made for durability.

If you're active and moving, Nirak can handle more than -20 degrees Celsius. If you're less active, it will keep you warm and comfortable around -8 degrees Celsius (17 degrees Fahrenheit). Remember that a good wool sock makes a difference.
