Using recycled polyester requires less energy
We aim to use recycled polyester in all polyester textiles that we use to minimize our usage of new oil. By using recycled polyester, we decrease the use of non-renewable resources that are used for producing virgin polyester. Using recycled polyester also requires less energy and generates less CO2 emissions than virgin polyester.
The source can either come from pre-consumer waste, waste from manufacturing, or post-consumer waste, after you as a consumer has used the product, diverting products such as PET-bottles from landfill.
Polyester is one of the most used synthetic fibers in the world. Some of the benefits of using polyester fibers are that it is a durable fiber that can take a lot of wear and tear, it does not absorb water – meaning that your shoes don’t gain weight when running through water.
