Good news from 2025
All our partner factories now use solar energy
Over the past few years, we’ve led a project to help our factory partners in Vietnam gain access to solar power — completely free of charge. Now, all three factories that produce our shoes have joined the initiative and accessed renewable electricity, cutting their energy footprint by as much as 45%. Since Vietnam’s public grid is largely powered by oil and coal, this is a major shift!
We received the highest rating from the Fair Wear Foundation
Since 2021, Icebug has been a member of the international organization Fair Wear Foundation, which works for fair wages and safe working conditions for factory workers. The organization performs regular audits, and in February our rating was upgraded to “Leader.” This doesn’t mean we’re done — now we aim to get even better!
We’ve donated 15 million SEK (1,5 million USD)
Every year we donate at least 1% of our revenue to environmental organizations and projects that make a positive impact. Since joining 1% for the Planet in 2020, that total has reached 15 million SEK. During this year’s Black Friday, we raised 1.2 million SEK (120 000 USD), which we donated to organizations working to protect forests in Sweden and around the world.

We published our first book
We’re committed to making Icebug a workplace that strengthens people rather than wears them down. Among other things, we offer three hours of paid wellness activity each week and follow a structured approach to personal development based on the Inner Development Goals framework. This spring, we published “Inner Development as a Team Sport,” a book sharing our experiences and offering inspiration for other companies.
Our winter shoes became even more durable
Ahead of the 2025 winter season, we released our new rubber compound, Nordic Traction. Independent testing shows that it provides excellent grip while being extremely durable. When it comes to sustainability, durability is one of our biggest priorities.
Good news from 2024
The world’s first FSC®-certified shoe collection
We aim to reduce the use of petroleum in our shoes and favor sustainable natural materials instead. Through relentless work with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and a group of smallholder farmers in Thailand, we've created a supply chain for sustainably grown natural rubber. And now it’s here: the world’s first FSC-certified shoe collection!

100% PFAS-Free
PFAS, the so-called “forever chemicals,” have been widely used in products like cookware and outdoor gear. With new regulations phasing out PFAS, we've fully transitioned to using PFAS-free GORE-TEX membranes. These offer great performance and are better for the environment.
100,000 euros for forest conservation
During Black Friday 2024 we raised 100.000 euros to donate to organizations working to preserve natural forests in Sweden and beyond. Huge thanks to everyone supporting groups like Naturarvet and Cpaws in their vital mission to protect biodiversity.

Pushing the industry away from Petroleum
Järv RB9X won an international sustainability award in May. This high-performance shoe incorporates a significant share of biobased materials, marking a step toward reducing reliance on petroleum-based components in the footwear industry.
Three years with Fair Wear Foundation
Icebug joined the Fair Wear Foundation in 2021, becoming one of 80 companies from 10 European countries working together for better conditions in the clothing and footwear industry. Through our commitment to Fair Wear Foundation, we demonstrate that as customers, we care, demand fair wages that factory workers can live on, and contribute to lasting improvements.

We use our business to do good
At Icebug, we’re committed to making better shoes that help you get out every day – no matter the conditions. Also, we have decided to change our industry by taking responsibility for our footprint. Our goal is to make footwear with great durability, low CO2 emissions and respect for people and planet. Part of the money that you invest in us, we give back to the planet by donating to organizations that, for instance, work to preserve old-growth forests.
