Clean, care and protect!
When you are done caring for the outside of the shoe, it’s time to take care or the inside. Now and then, give your shoes a rest and use a different pair. Your feet may sweat up to 100 ml every day depending on activity, so it is good to protect the inside of the shoes with an insole (Icebug insoles for example) which also provides great comfort and fit. You can also use wooden shoe blocks when the shoes are resting, as wood absorbs moisture. Use shoehorns when you put on your shoes to make the shoe's heel cap last longer. Different types of shoes require different types of materials to function optimally in varying conditions.
Lost a stud?
Our BUGrip technology is designed to provide reliable traction even if you lose one or even a couple of studs per shoe. If you lose more than that, you should replace them – and that’s easy to do yourself. You can order replacement studs at icebug.com, either for running shoes or for hiking and walking shoes.
If too many studs are missing, or if the shoes are too old or worn, it may not be possible to fully restore the grip. We’ll send your replacement studs shortly, and you can easily install them yourself using elastic glue (for example RubberFix or Shoe Goo) and a pair of pliers.
For US customers
Replacement studs are available for US customers, but they are not yet available in our webshop. Please contact our customer service by email to receive replacement studs.

Help from Icebug
Replace – or visit your local shoemaker
The Icebug Customer Relations team offers our customers sustainable service options to extend product lifetime by providing replacement parts, such as new laces, insoles, studs, and zippers.
If you discover a defect with your shoes, contact our customer service team or visit one of our stores. We help you look at your shoes and decide the best solution. When shoes can be repaired well, we encourage our customers to go to a cobbler first to repair minor defects, provided the shoes are otherwise in usable condition. Icebug reimburses the cost of minor repairs at a cobbler. We would rather have the shoes repaired than thrown away or exchanged for a new pair.
At Icebug Customer Relations, we are actively trying to make repairs, however small, as environmentally friendly as possible. By supplying retailers and shoemakers with spare studs, we are eliminating unnecessary shipping to and from end customers, allowing repairs to be done locally.
